Paschal Nnawunezi Friday, 6 January 2023
The battle in Nigeria politics has taken a big step as Nigerians will soon decide who will be their next president is still much alive.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Delta State, Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege has knocked Governor Ifeanyi Okowa on Thursday concerning the betrayal of his Southern people for been the next president of Nigeria.
After a conversation with Buhari, The lawmaker spoke with reporters where he dismissed the notion that Delta is a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) State.
He stated that this is a very serious misconception, Delta is very ripe for the taking”, the law maker added.
Meanwhile Omo-Agege also complained about the condition of the oil rich State despite receiving huge appropriation from the federal government.
He stated that since Okowa assumed office in 2015, Delta has received close to N4.2trillion.
“This came by way of federal allocation, 13 percent derivation, and also about N400billion the State has borrowed without proper usage of the funds.
Okowa’s administration has failed to pay gratuities and pensions, as well as the N30,000 minimum wage stipulated for civil servants.
The Senator alleged that despite being a medical doctor, the health sector in Delta was below standard and that it is worrisome.
Okowa have been accused of betraying the demand for Southern presidency because of his interest in becoming Atiku's second as Vice President.
He said it was only fair and equitable that President Buhari’s successor comes from the South.
“Okowa betrayed that course by selling away our right, and instead going for Vice President when the country is offering us the presidency.
Southern people are not taking this betrayal kindly and are determined that they will punish Okowa after all this misconduct.
