Chelsea manager forced to revise plans for surge up table after 1-0 loss to AFC Bournemouth

Jose Mourinho

"Before the game I was thinking top four." Jose Mourinho on why he must revise his plans after Chelsea's defeat by AFC Bournemouth

Chelsea 0-1 AFC Bournemouth

Jose Mourinho has admitted Chelsea may have to accept that a top-four finish is beyond them.

The Barclays Premier League champions slumped to their eighth defeat of the season as Glenn Murray's header sealed a shock 1-0 win for AFC Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Mourinho, whose side sit on 15 points, 14 behind fourth-placed Manchester United, believes that UEFA Champions League qualification may well be out of the question.
"Before the game I was thinking we could finish top four," he said. "Let's think about the next game and forget the targets."
