In Southeast, The Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has declared May 31 as holiday to mark the 2021 Biafra Day according to the group.

MASSOB Leader, Uchenna Madu, opined in a statement that  says this year’s anniversary is unique and special because it falls on a Sunday.

He later stressed further that Biafra was declared on May 30, 1967 by General Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu.

The date is sacrosanct and sacred to the history and lives of Biafra Republic, adding that the ordinances Ojukwu must be adhered to.

MASSOB directed “all the churches in Biafra land” to observe special prayers and supplication for the fallen Biafra heroes during the civil war.

Madu told religious and church leaders to “stop praying for the betterment of Islamic Republic of Nigeria” that disintegration is what Nigeria needed and not restructuring that there is nothing to restructure.

You will remember that restructuring was what that caused the Biafra - Nigeria civil war when Ojukwu told the Nigeria government the need for restructuring, and the North kicked against Ojukwu and imposed war on Biafrans that resulted in killing of over 3 million Biafrans.

There will be movements and normal social activities on May 30th being Sunday because of Christian worship but there will be a sit at home exercise on May 31st being Monday for the people of Biafra as a mark of a solidarity and honor Biafra land.”

MASSOB further directed all markets, schools, banks and all other public offices, “in Biafra land to observe the sit-at-home exercise as a mark of respect for our fatherland.”

Madu enjoined the people to get ready for “the celebration of this great anniversary which will hold to remind ourselves to continue the self determination movement for Biafra restoration”.

Feel free to let us know what you think about this order.
