Lower Niger Congress – USA (LNC-USA) is the Diaspora extension of the Self-determination movement for the indigenous peoples of the Lower Niger to live free and prosper in their own ancestral homeland without intrusions and impositions by external interests.

Self-Determination is Not Synonymous With Secession.

Self-determination is a mere assertion by the indigenous peoples of the Lower Niger and other emergent federations of their inalienable right to determine their own fate by themselves, within the context of today’s Nigeria or outside of it.

We believe that the best path forward for Nigeria, as it devolves, must be a peaceful one.  Overconcentration of political power at the center, which was put in place by the imposed Unification Decree No 34 of May 24, 1966, has resulted in ethnic cleansing and pogroms, a genocidal Civil War, divisiveness, official corruption, arbitrariness and unmitigated economic ruination to a once promising Nigeria of the immediate post-Independence era of the 1960s.  The unacceptable status quo is artificially sustained through negating the rights of millions of indigenous peoples of the Lower Niger whose ancestral lands and the treasures in them have been stolen by external interest groups that control the citadel of power at the center in Abuja.
